This is the start of spring break for Em! She loves it because she gets to spend the entire week with her friends at the program she goes to for after school. That means we pack a lunch and she loves when I pack a pudding cup in her lunch box! Since Easter is right around the corner... I figured making her pudding cups EXTRA special would be a nice little surprise for her!
Lately, I have been obsessed with making Oreo Pops (stick around, I will be sharing lots of fun ideas!). They are SUPER easy and delicious to make. They look super adorable and go PERFECT with this fun treat!
All you need are yellow candy melts, candy eyes (or you can use black frosting candy writer and make dots for eyes), orange candy writer (frosting in a tube so you can decorate), and lollipop sticks.
How to make Easter Chick Oreo Pops:
1. Twist open Oreos.
2. Melt candy melts in microwave (use 30 second intervals. It should only take 1 minute to melt thoroughly).
3. Dip sticks in melted candy and press into filling and press other half of cookie to "glue" cookie closed. Stick in refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow candy to harden.
4. Reheat candy melts, if necessary. Dip Oreos and turn until oreos are completely coated. Place pops onto wax paper.
5. If using candy eyes, put on the pops now.
6. Allow pops to set/harden in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
7. Once set, make beak and feet with orange colored candy writer (or if you have narrow frosting tips, you can use orange frosting and do the same). For the beak- just a little triangle and for the feet, make a V and an extra line in the center.
You're done!
Now... the pudding cup egg next. You need: Honey Maid graham crackers (pulsed into crumbs in a food processor), green edible glitter OR green sprinkles, and jelly beans.
I love that Snack Packs have easy open lids, so they come off nice and easy!
1. Open up the pudding cups (Use your favorite flavor- chocolate or vanilla. Both are delicious and have as much calcium as an 8 ounce glass of milk!)
2. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs.
3. Add the "grass" (green sprinkles or green edible glitter)
4. Put the eggs (jelly beans) in the grass!
5. Then put the Easter Chick in the pudding basket and you have an Easter Egg Pudding Cup!
These are super cute and really easy.
They would make a fun craft for kids and would be PERFECT for Easter picnics, Easter events, etc.
