Disclaimer: This post is sponsored by Evite but my excitement about the release of Beauty and the Beast and these Beauty and the Beast inspired pretzel rods are my own.
Excuse me while my fangirl roots are showing.
I absolutely LOVE Disney animated movies. ALL of them. However, I have to say that the live action versions have me screaming from happiness. Alice in Wonderland, Alice Through the Looking Glass, The Jungle Book, Cinderella, Pete's Dragon- they all bring me so much joy. I love that my 13 year old daughter and I can enjoy both the animated movies AND the live action versions.
Now, with the upcoming release of the live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast (March 17, 2017 in IMAX and 3D), the excitement is palpable.
I have a bit of a soft spot for Beauty and the Beast. I studied French for several years and the French fairy tale, "La Belle et la Bête" was the first French language book I read in all its entirety and it was part of building excitement when the animated movie premiered in 1991. I remember the goosebumps on my arm seeing Belle on the big screen and her encountering the Beast. The music, the books, the castle, the French country side- it was all beautiful to me and it still gives me the feeling of Disney Magic.
And now? Live action!?!? The trailer.... *swoons*
Emma Watson is a beautiful Belle. Luke Evans is a perfect Gaston. Dan Stevens is going to be a GREAT Beast (Hello Mr. Crawley!). And let's not forget that Emma Thompson is Mrs. Potts! And Stanley Tucci is Cadenza. This is not just an all-star cast-, it's a cast of talented powerhouses.
I can't wait until March 17, 2017! The best part is pre-sale tickets have been available since January 30, 2017. You can head over to Fandango and order them here.

How to Make Beauty and the Beast Pretzel Rods
1 bag of yellow candy melts
1 bag of chocolate candy melts
1 bag of pretzel rods
Decorations: Yellow sparkle sugar and gold sparkle sugar.
1. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
2. Melt candy melts per instructions on packaging (I use the microwave method and then pour the melted candy into two tall cups for easier dipping)
3. Dip pretzel rods about 3 inches into the candy and remove excess on the side of the container (using the tall cup makes this part easier!)
4. Sprinkle Yellow dipped rods with yellow sparkle sugar and Chocolate rods with gold sparkle sugar.
5. Lay on parchment paper and pop in the refrigerator to allow candy to set (about 20 minutes).
6. Enjoy these adorable Beauty and the Beast inspired Pretzel Rods!
Store any leftovers in an airtight container (if there are any) and enjoy within a few days!
