Do you remember the first time you tried hot cocoa?
This post about hot cocoa cookies has been sponsored by Stephen's Gourmet Cocoa as a member of Mom It Forward Influencer Network.
That magical first taste when marshmallows hit your lips and then the hot cocoa taste hits your tongue is such a special moment. The richness of it all just made a kid feel like a million bucks. ESPECIALLY after playing in the cold for hours.
I remember as a child, my mom would make her homemade cocoa mix and as kids, we couldn't wait for mom to make it. As a large, poor family- chocolate was a HUGE treat. It was such a BIG deal. I remember feeling the excitement as Christmas came near because that meant mom was making cocoa. I am fairly certain we drank WAY TOO much of it but hey, it was special.
Of course, I have passed on the excitement to my daughter. The first time she tried hot cocoa- her eyes lit up and she started giggling. Of course, this was 5 years ago.
Her reaction is STILL the same.
My daughter and I love when the nights start to cool down and we can sip mugs of hot cocoa. We really, REALLY like Stephen's Gourmet Cocoa. They have such a wide range of flavors like Candycane, Salted Caramel, Dark Chocolate, S'mores, and Mint Truffle. Trust me- they're all soooo good.
She looks forward to making cookies and a steaming mug of Stephen's Gourmet Cocoa for Christmas every year. We grab our mugs, a blanket, curl up on the couch and watch ALL THE CHRISTMAS movies we can. It's such a perfect moment to just enjoy the moments together.
The moment is magical every time. Even better when she passes out on the couch.
These hot cocoa cookies are so good.
They're not insanely sweet or overly chocolatey- they taste like hot cocoa! They're a perfect cookie to dip in a mug of cocoa! I like playing around with the different flavors of Stephen's Gourmet Cocoa to just change them up each time. This batch I made with the Candycane Cocoa and OMG! PERFECTION!
