For other areas of the country, summertime is happiness. For me? In the desert? Definitely going to quote Lana Del Rey's Summertime Sadness. It's hot. My skin is dry. You literally run from an AC home/office/store/wherever right to a car and blast the AC. You can't drink enough and it's misery. However, I don't like the heat. Especially the extreme and relentless heat BUT I do love the fall, winter and spring here.
Golly gee jumping grasshoppers, Batman!!! I am that person. I am talking about the weather. *shrugs* It's important stuff, yo.
I constantly have to moisturize. Emma also has really dry skin. So, I have a bit of a process for our skin. We are both fairly sensitive- we turn bright red easily- with touch, with harsh products, you name it. We're sensitive and pasty girls. I do swear by sugar scrubs. A good sugar scrub will exfoliate the dead skin and leave a glowing, healthy and softer skin behind. I also follow up with a moisturizer. Also? Water. Lots and lots and lots of water.
My friend sent me some of her skin care product line from her new company, RooBee Box, to try out and I have to tell you, I adore the sugar scrub she sent me. The scent was heavenly and the end result? Exactly what I want- glowing, healthy and softer looking skin. I also used it on Emma's feet (her feet are always very dry on the top) and I have found improvement. I am super happy.
I did try RooBee Box's body butter and balm BUT I am not a fan of oil heavy products. I never used baby oil on Emma, I don't like it on me, I don't like the feeling when I get olive oil on my skin, so it has zero to do with the quality of the product but more to do with me and my sensory processing of it. My sister, however, adored them! She uses them all the time and the scent? It's out of this world!!
If you have a chance, be sure to check out RooBee Box and maybe pick up a scrub or a body butter or two!
How do you prepare your skin for summer
