Review: Influencer Marketing For Dummies + Giveaway **CLOSED** WINNER NOTIFIED

In 2007, I ventured into the world of blogging.  I just wanted to write about the journey of raising a child with a traumatic brain injury and the whirlwind that happens after learning your child was abused.  Since 2007, my blog has morphed into different identities as I tried to figure out who I am as a blogger.

Enter 2016, I have more focus with the path I want my blogging career to travel on but I have struggled with marketing my blog.  So, when I was offered the chance to read and review "Influencer Marketing for Dummies"- I totally jumped at the chance.  I am in the process of rebranding and moving my content into different blogs (moving food to one, parenting to another, etc.) and I really want 2016 to be when I really become hyper focused and successful with these ventures.

I won't lie- I want them to succeed on a personal level and a financial level.  I want my blogs to give back to my readers and I also want to make a good earning that I can reinvest for mine and my daughter's future.

"Influencer Marketing for Dummies" is really geared towards companies who want to work with bloggers and as a blogger, it's a gold mine of information that I can use towards growing and succeeding:

  • What do companies want?
  • What makes a campaign successful?
  • How can I leverage this information as an influencer and become more successful?
  • How can I involve and engage readers more?

The book really answered these questions for me and gave so much insight into what brands need and how bloggers can provide the influence needed.

Each section is broken down into platform- blogs, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Youtube and others.    I love that the focus wasn't on the number of followers each blogger/influencer had (we all know the anxiety from worrying if our numbers are good enough) but how engaging the examples shared are.  It's not about having 200 likes on a post but how ENGAGED the readers are, how many readers clicked to the website, etc.

I learned to focus on a FEW platforms- not all the platforms.  Master one, then move to another.  Engage and grow your audience.  I won't lie- numbers ARE important but not as important as an engaged audience.

Each section provides many, many tips and examples that I plan to take and use as guides.

I am re-reading the book again as I feel there is soooo much in it.  I BARELY scratched the surface of the content in the book.
