I am really excited. I *finally* went to see the final installment of The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies. I have been a bit obsessed with Middle Earth for many, many years and there's nothing like seeing them on the big screen. Since the Desolation of Smaug, I have been a wee bit... um, captivated by Lee Pace's portrayal of Thranduil (Legalos' father). Dare I say that I have a bit of a fangirl crush because I don't want a prince on a white horse- gimme an Elven King on an elk. Before I embarrass myself any further with my fangirling, let's talk about easy breakfast ideas.
I will be honest- I am horrible about making breakfast. Breakfast usually consists of a bowl of cereal or oatmeal. Last weekend, I made pancakes and Em was soooo happy. That made me happy and sad at the same time. Happy because she was so excited and she was thanking me profusely over a simple pancake. She said "Oh mom! Thank you so much! You made this special for me!" (I promise you, she does talk like that!). Sad because... something as simple as a pancake made her so happy and why don't I make her breakfasts more often?
After seeing the Hobbit, my brother and I went to Walmart and I picked up some of the Pepperidge Farm sweet rolls, which I found in the refrigerator case (by the cream cheese, eggs, etc.) I bought one in Pecan Caramel and Apple. Of course, had to pick up 100% Florida Orange juice. I had seen on Pinterest an idea where you put a cinnamon roll in a waffle maker and I wanted to do the same with the Pepperidge Farm sweet rolls!
I totally don't regret this choice.
I mean... just looooooooooooooooooook.
This is absolutely glorious and ridiculously easy to make. EASSSSSSSSSSSSSY.
Apple Sweet Roll Waffles Recipe
1 Can of Pepperidge Farm Apple Sweet Rolls
Waffle maker
Cooking spray
Preheat your waffle maker per your brand's instructions.
Pop open the can (am I the only one who jumps when the can pops? No?).
Pull out the packet of icing and apples- open them and set aside.
Separate the four rolls.
Spray waffle maker with cooking spray
Place one roll in waffle maker
Use a spoon and press an indention in the center of the roll and fill the groove with apple filling. (Be careful so you don't burn yourself)
Press down the lid and cook!
I like mine crispy, so it took about five minutes.
Repeat with each roll.
Top each waffle with icing.
Serve with sausage, fruit, or whatever side you would prefer.
We ate ours with turkey sausage and 100% Florida orange juice.
Easy peazy.
Em was so happy and let me tell you... it was DELICIOUS!
A Hobbit would totally enjoy it. Yum!
