Oh tea, how I love thee!
Oh! I rhymed! I almost feel a bit like a poet. Maybe I have found my calling. I'm kidding (or maybe not... *starts writing poems*).
So, there is something so elusive and so mythical that many would sell their left knee cap to get their hands on it. What is it? Peace and quiet. Moms and dads... you know what I am talking about, right? Those blissful, uninterrupted moments where you can sip on your favorite cup of Bigelow Tea, work on your blog, read a book, watch Murder, She Wrote or Buffy on Netflix (shhhhh. Don't judge. Dads... I see you. I know you're watching it, too) or just sit and stare at the wall. We all seek it.
Now that school is back in session and we have a new round of chaos upon us, how do YOU find time for yourself?
For me, finding time is tricky. I don't have the luxury of a spouse or a family member who can take Emma for some time so I can escape and go to the store. Her caregiver just moved back to Washington for better opportunities (so happy for her) and I haven't replaced her yet.
Those who know me, know that I am a HUGE bookworm. I read whenever I can but when Em's home, it's my attention she needs and wants and she gets it.
I am asked (often) how do I find time to read, blog, watch Netflix (it's an addiction, what can I say?) along with working a full time job, raising a special needs child all by myself. What is my answer?
Tea. Well, Bigelow Tea (100% ALL AMERICAN TEA! WOOT!) and creative scheduling.
There are three days during the week I get a blissful hour and a half 100% to me. Emma's bus comes to get her at 6:45 am (Yes, school starts really early in the AM) and I don't have to leave for work until 8:30 am. Yeah, that is MINE ALL MINE. GLORIOUS!!!!
I use that time to take a quick shower, get dressed for work and sip my tea. Bigelow is my favorite. They have such an amazing variety of blends for all occasions. Want to relax? There's a tea for that. Want probiotics? Yes! They have a tea for that (seriously. LOOK!)! Want a pick me up, sleepy time, fruity, minty, herbal, etc.- they have it! For me, there is NOTHING better than having a nice herbal tea with lemon, ginger and honey and either relaxing with my book (currently, I am reading Tom Robbins. He is amazing!) or working on this lovely blog of mine!
Bigelow Tea is All American.
